तापसी पन्नू की फिल्म '' के चर्चे तबसे हैं जबसे मेकर्स ने इसके बारे में अनाउंसमेंट किया था। फिल्म के ट्रेलर को लोगों से काफी तारीफ मिली। फिल्म बीते शुक्रवार रिलीज हुई और इसे मिक्स रिव्यूज मिले। वीकडेज में सुधार की उम्मीद Boxofficeindia.com की लेटेस्ट रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक फिल्म को शुक्रवार को 70% ग्रोथ मिली और इसने कुल 5 करोड़ की कमाई की। फिल्म की पहले दिन की कमाई 7.50 और 7.75 करोड़ रुपये रही। हालांकि यह कमाई कम है लेकिन वीकडेज तक इसमें सुधार हो कता है। यहां मिला सबसे अच्छा रिस्पॉन्स फिल्म का कलेक्शन दिल्ली एनसीआर और मुंबई में बेस्ट रहा जबकि मेट्रो सिटीज में इसकी रीच लिमिटेड रही। 'पंगा' की सैटर्डे ग्रोथ 108 फीसदी रही थी वहीं छपाक की में 40 फीसदी बढ़ोतरी दिखाई दी थी। फिल्म के दो दिनों का कलेक्शन (Apx) शुक्रवार - 2,85,00,000 शनिवार - 4,75,00,000 टोटल - 7,60,00,000 यह है फिल्म की कहानी 'थप्पड़' की कहानी के बारे में बात करें तो यह फिल्म एक महिला (तापसी) के इर्द-गिर्द घूमती है। उसका पति उसे थप्पड़ मार देता है तो वह तलाक का केस फाइल कर देती है।
